What are the qualifications that qualify a priest to give marriage advice to couples over a marriage advisor who is married? What are the qualifications that qualify a priest to give marriage advice to couples over a marriage advisor?
Well for the most part if you are a church going person the priest will know both the man and the wife. He will have an insight into their lives and community.
A priest in many places is the center of the community and has been the one to deal with all of the communities problems. Most priest are great guys, with a good ear and a warm heart. They do what they do out of the love of god and their fellow man.
An advisor is just that. Someone who you goto to get advice. Not someone who is involved with your day to day life and has watched you and your family for years.
If you are uncomfortable with a priest than advisor is one way to do it. But it will be more impersonal and more expensive. What are the qualifications that qualify a priest to give marriage advice to couples over a marriage advisor?
He has an outside perspective? I wouldn't really rely on him, although it's probobly cheaper.
He also has a certain book that has all sorts of info in it that he can call on to help you.... so... there's that.
He has a doctorate in the Canon Law of the Church which contains discussions on marriage, or he might have learned it from his studies. No one is accepted in the priesthood if he hasn't graduated in college.
well a priest is bias due to the fact that he will incorporate heavy religion into everything he tells you. A regular counselor will just concentrate on the real problems.
Wow, that is a tough one. A Priest gives us the advise of marriage. His qualification is that he has given himself to God, sacrificed everything to God, forsaken NO OTHER, than God.
A Priest, marries himself to God.
The Bible gives the unordained the right to have sexual pleasure, and the right to embrace in public, to bear children.
A Priest is qualified to marry us and to entrust the sacred ';pact'; we make with God upon marriage.
A marriage advisor or councelor, well they do good work, however, one can not discect the union of a Man and Wife.
While I find them to be of good intent, Advisors make a right, very wrong, and quickly.
Love and right living is all that is needed in a marriage.
it is totaly at the choice of the maried couple .. if they put thyr trust in the priest .. whell he is the best suited person to give advice .. i'm sure no priest will say that if he cheaated on u u should do the same to him. a mariage advisor could have more know how .. but have less authority in fron of the couple
knowledge of Biblical scriptures.
