I Will Be Here Stephen Curtis ChapmanWhat are some good love songs for a couples first dance at their wedding?
There is a song by KC %26amp; JoJo that I played at my wedding called ';All My Life.'; Here is a sample of the lyrics:

    ';You are the only one my everything/And to you this song I sing/All my life/I pray for someone like you/And I thank God, that I/That I finally find you';
Either It Had To Be you (i can't remeber the artist) or From This Moment By Shania Twain. The first one is more fun and the second is a sweet song. Tell your friend Congrats on getting married!!! Hope it's a beautiful wedding!
    Alan Jackson - Remember When

Edwin McCain - I'll Be Your Crying Shoulder

Frank Sinatra - It Had To Be You
We used ';In my life'; by the Beatles--very cool. Had friends that used ';you look wonderful tonight';--big tearjerker %26amp; a few used Crash by Dave Matthews Band. The most unusual one was ';don't change'; by INXS, not really a slow song--but it was good--they weren't slow song people. Congrats to your friend, btw.
Jimmy Wayen, Etta James. Some old classics, and new slow songs are really tear jerkers when you see them dancing!!
I'LL ALWAYS LOVE YOU, BY TITO NIEVES, YOU WILL LOVE IT YOU SHOULD CHECK IT OUT.
at my sis wedding she played

power of love by celine dion

i still believe in u by vince gill
I always liked ';Nothing Compares to You'; by Sinead O'Connor (but if it's a chuch wedding that might not go over too well)

November Rain - Guns n' Roses

    Something - Beatles

Baby I'm amazed - Paul Mc Cartney

    Patience - Guns n' Roses

I Remember You - Skid Row
There are many, some of my favorites are:

Could I have this Dance by Anne Murray

Don't Know Much by Linda Ronstant and Aaron Neville

What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong

Close to You by the Carpenters

I will be Here by Steven Curtis Chapman

    Color my World by Chicago

Just You and I by Eddie Rabbit and Crystal Gayle

Love of a Lifetime by Firehouse

    Theme from Love Story

Baby I'm Amazed by Paul McCartney and Wings
p.m dawn i'd die w/o you. that's what we are playing.
Please Forgive Me and Everything I Do, I Do It For You by Bryan Adams. Bon Jovi has some really good love ballads from their Crossroads CD and Aerosmith has some good ballads from Just Push Play that are lovely and slow enough to dance to. The lists are actually endless. Good Luck!!
My husband and I used Always and Forever by Heatwave, but My Sweet Lady or For You By John Denver are good ones, as well as Suddenly from the Xanadu soundtrack.

My husband and I are hosting a Wedding couples shower for our best friends, any cool theme & game ideas?

I would do the newly wed game. If you will have couples then it would be lots of fun. We actually played this with our kids one Christmas. They all had their spouse or girlfriend/boyfriends with. Not all the questions were ones I wanted to answer but with some creative answers it all turned out fun. My single son was the one asking the questions. When they were confusing he just started making up his own. The sad thing was that my husband and i lost.My husband and I are hosting a Wedding couples shower for our best friends, any cool theme %26amp; game ideas?
for during the shower - bridal bingo.

after the shower... battle of the sexes is fun, board game you can buy in stores

    taboo, is super fun too

you kinda don't need a theme. just have fun.

other than that. most ppl are busy eating and watching them open gifts to really want to play games... i would keep the games till after that's done. if anyone hangs around then you can play gamesMy husband and I are hosting a Wedding couples shower for our best friends, any cool theme %26amp; game ideas?
** Newlywed game is fun for everyone

** Take the engaged couple out of the room and explain to everyone else that what the couple says during the next game is what will be said on their wedding night. Give them a broomstick or something similar and have them both grab the stick horizontally behind them. They are to then try to put the stick in front of the two of them without letting go of the stick. It gets pretty funny.

**Since guys don't really like showers, try a jail theme (ball and chains, etc..)
Why can't you just have the shower, talk about the things they have to look forward to. Maybe even have each person write down a piece of advice for them and put it in a nice box for them to open once they get married. Maybe it's just because I'm not into shower games that I'm not crazy about them. One thing you could do is pictionary with a wedding theme. Make up your own cards with things about wedding planning or the wedding/reception on them. I wouldn't have a theme because usually guests then feel they have to get gifts that go along with that theme and the bride and groom could need things not associated with the theme more.

i guess im not understanding ur question try wordin*** SWEET MILDRED IS MY LEADER...CRAWL INTO OUR PLAYPEN SECRET SOCIETY WITH US***g it differentlyPsychological and legal enactments which contribute to married couples' desire to have a big family?
    Homework question ???

Married couples' names correlate with marriage durability?

I read that if a couple's two first names end in the same letter like (';John'; and ';Jan';) then they won't last as long as a couple whose names end in different letters (';Ken'; and ';Barbie';)

Is this true or does it make no sense at all?

Married couples' names correlate with marriage durability?
I can't even remotely imagine any cause-and-effect relationship between the two. So no, it makes no sense at all to me.Married couples' names correlate with marriage durability?
well this explains our lack of sex for 12 years. our names start AND end with the same letters.

and we are the same height.

and her name has more letters... probably means dominance, huh?
No, it has to do with the couple. My parents friends who have been married about 30 years are Pat and Patty. ;)
Its just an old wives' tale. Things like that are fun to think about, but you should never live your life based on them.
    I really doubt that matters.

My boyfriend and I, are both in our early twenty's %26amp; are looking to go away in June/july kind of time. We want nice beaches, nice restaurants with a few bars and obviously hot weather. We have about 拢1000 to spend on flights and accommodation for the two of us. It'd be great if anywhere can reccomend any places/hotels etc?Young couples holiday - where do you recommend?
Bahamas?LOL....how bout thailand? For instance phuket?Young couples holiday - where do you recommend?
portugal is great for good weather, nice beaches, nice restaurants and bars. i'd recommend albufeira, as i've been there twice and it was great - not a single day of bad weather both times i went (for a week each), and it has everything you listed as a specification.
You should go to Tegra. It is a nice place, and they have some food there. The beaches are fine, and the bars are morbidly ultimate. I think that Antelope Daddy. Please vote for Hillary Clinton!

'couples with marriage problems should always turn to religious community' why?

give reasons and evidence for u answers and give and show thoughts of more than one point of view

plz be very very detailled and use diffrent religious beliefs

    the best answer gets 10points!

i will be waiting..'couples with marriage problems should always turn to religious community' why?
I aint telling until I see the points first !'couples with marriage problems should always turn to religious community' why?
I don't know you tell me why. I am a married women with a son. I have had a lot of problems with my husband once our son arrived. We did not turn to religion, we turned to counselling, which has helped us a great deal, one year later we don't have the same troubles anymore. In fact, my husband and I like to watch Richard Dawkins speak, we like to analyse why people belief in a higher being if there is even one at all. To answer your question, I don't think married couples ';should'; do anything if they don't want to. However, some couples do turn to religion because it gives them hope, they have their faith that holds them together, lack of education maybe, want to join volunteer groups, make more friends, have something to do that they can share in together and they do not have any other creative ideas on what to do together so church seems like the safest bet.

Those are a few reasons why some couples may turn to religion.
Well, I am not conversant with other religious beliefs, sorry. So, for this issue, I will stay with the bible as a Christian that I am. The application of secular counseling in marrital conflicts could be complicating, confusing, and counterproductive, because of the word's diverse cultures plus the differences, and sometimes conflicting, experiences and personal philosophies of both amateur and professional counselor. Talking about the world's diverse cultures, take Nigeria for example. Women in this West African country are naturally made to endure the ';sins'; committed by their husbands, even if it has to do with a clear case of unfaithfully by the man. Here, the man can go out partying for an entire night while the woman stays awake for the night so that she could serve ';her lord'; with food whenever he is comes back home. And to cap it all, she wouldn't dare raise a voice to enquire from the husband why he stayed out so late. You and I know that these cannot happen in the American culture where a woman can move past a man to do her own thing in her own way, even if it is her husband of 30 years.

Interestingly, still in one country - let's say the U.S - it is possible for a particular marriage problem to get varied and even conflicting advice from different marriage counselors! This shouldn't be any suprise, however, because these counselors rely on their personal experiences and philosophies which of course shape their interpretations of issues and personalities involved in conflicts.

Now, having said all that, I personally view ';religious community'; as being the perfect way out for marriage problems. The bible, for instance, is not ambigous or bias, and does not contain double speak when addressing marriage and its attendant problems. The same bible that tells a woman to submit to her husband, also admonishes the husband to love his wife. The bible frowns at unfaithful both partners, and totally reject divorce. Finally, a man and a woman that belongs to the faith, wouldn't mind relying on the bible as their constitution, for easy reference during difficult moments. Moreso, a clergy handling marriage dispute would also rely much on it than personal experiences and philosophy.
I disagree. Some people aren't religious, so find no comfort in something they do not believe in. I feel a marriage with problems can only be fixed by the two people that are in it. Without BOTH of them willing to compromise and find a common ground they can both be happy with, then the effort is doomed from the start. No outside force can make them want to fix their marriage, that starts with them.
Though this is stated, I do not agree. Been there done that. The religious community regardless of relgious beliefs wants married couples to stay together no matter what.. But how can one in my case a catholic priest who is not allowed to marry tell me to stay with an abusive man? Im now divorced and have been ex communicated from the church because of it... God loves us regardless of what we do right?? Then how come it was ok to ban me from my church because I divorced?
Priests are not marriage counselors or psychologists. They study theology and briefly will study general physiology, nothing to help them handle marriage problems. All they're able to say is ';pray the Lord'....sorry I did pray the Lord for years and that didn't make my husband stop being violent.

Use different religion beliefs? sorry again, I have enough trying to understand my own religion, I don't have time to study other religion point of view on marriage.
I dont think every people turn to religious community if i were havin proplems with my marriage i wouldnt go to any thing like that and i have got beleaves and that but i wouldnt do that maybe some people are in to it but it wouldnt be for me
I don't agree. I think marriage is a lot of work and sometimes couples need help. That doesn't mean they need religion. They may need counseling.
I disagree. I think people with problems should look to reality to solve them, not to some imaginary friends.
Religious leader want to entrap and control people to keep their financial boat afloat any way they can.
    That's a load of crap.

What is the average age difference between couples in the West?

THREE AND FIVE AT ABSOLUTE MAX.

If you need ask then realize you are probably too old and/or too young. Regardless, growing up would be the best answer.

For example: A wild guess: Consider if you are 28 and they are 35...then that is sick.

Consider the differences that occur in life, sincerely.

From 25-28..there are many changes. From 28-30 there are many more. From 30-33, still more changes and from 33-35 there are again definite changes.

How you think and feel in your twenties is not at all how you may feel when older. Five years would be a max for age differences when dating and/or in a relationship. However some can make such differences work, yet consider other factors as well...such as, who they had to stop being friends with, or who you had to stop being friends with.....when you are 30 and they are almost 40...do you think you both will feel the same? This applies as vise versa as well. Do you like thier friends or yours thiers?

Do you have to hide the relationship? If so, that is a sure fire sign to run. You deserve much more than hiding and wondering and or searching to find answers...sincerely, the answers are within you. Evaluate what brought you both together to begin with...was it due to them or you being hurt by a true love? People sometimes meet for reason, and love naturally becomes a part of that bonding, yet it is not what makes it last.

Consider if you have children with the person or from another person...and consider the sharing of ex stories...not everyone is so honest about that. I've learned unless you directly speak with the ex and/or ex's then it's only a one sided story or a story that protects them, regardless if it's not a kind story.

AGE DIFFERENCE: The great difference is age...and if you question it, the answer is had...you are either too old and/or too young for one another. The other additions are just facts to consider when deciphering the age differences.

Oh, and if you think they love another...(a factor of age difference) then tell them the truth...because if you love them..they ought be with thier true love.

Personal experience: I went overseas and my love, my deepest love, thought I left them...became bored, broken and sad and filled that pain with a new lover...out of convenience. Thier new love comes around all of the time which gave them comfort to not be 'left again', and they have a great age difference as well, and seldom we speak...and they complain about them all of the time. I'll return when they realize on their own that I never left them but have been waiting to return to them regardlessly.

TRUST....age does make a difference...for many many reasons. Give yourself a few years and then reflect...you will notice how many changes you have had. You seem to be growing up now...and that means changing. Good for you : )

YOU CERTAINLY DESERVE SOMEONE AROUND YOUR OWN AGE. You could be more happy. What is the average age difference between couples in the West?

Why don't commercials use more interracial couples?

I don't just mean showing multiple racres interacting as friends, but showing more openly interracial couples. I'm not looking for this question to be contreversial or bring out strong emotions.I'm just wondering since more people than ever are multiracial, why is that not reflected in advertising? I'd like a serius answer. Why don't commercials use more interracial couples?
Companies airing commercials do research which shows what the majority of the population thinks about racial issues among other things. So if they don't show interracial couples, this reflects the racist thinking of the majority of the population. If these companies don't reflect majority opinion, then they won't sell so much of their garbage (sorry I mean products...)Why don't commercials use more interracial couples?
I think they may be afraid of some of the more powerful conservative groups boycotting their products if they were ever to show ';such a thing.'; Personally I'd like to see it. It would be more representative of the country.
They are not the norm. I have seen some commercials with interracial couples but the are not common. People do not react well to difference.

  • Couples who live together please help?

How much time do you spend with each other ie how much time do you spend a part, what is a healthy ammount?Couples who live together please help?
I spend most of the day with my lady, but having your own friends and getting away is completely healthy.Couples who live together please help?
Well my boyfriend works, so during the day I have that time to myself, although soon my uni will start up again so I will be out more. We pretty much have every night and morning together and then the weekend. Though I try to give him some time to himself each weekend. I usually go to work for a few hours on a Saturday morning, and if not then I will go out shopping for a few hours. It really helps. I get to have a lot of time to myself when he is at work, but he doesn't have that same opportunity. I think he enjoys having even a few hours to do his own thing.

The other important thing I think is to do something at the very least once per fortnight, where you go out and do something fun together, something other than grocery shopping! So we go out for dinner, go for walks, go sightseeing about once per weekend. It just brightens things up a little and gets you out of the house together.
if you are living together, then you should see each other when you aren't working or doing other things like hobbies... :D

it is healthy when you are stifling each other and aren't worried sick that the other person is avoiding you... :D

Why does the car fog up when couples have sex inside?

heat and humidty given off by breathing hard in an enclosed areaWhy does the car fog up when couples have sex inside?
Why does the car fog up when you're driving along in 20F weather? It's because of the heat produced by the occupants, and especially because of their breath. Their breath is hot, and if there is a large differential between the temperature of the inside of the car and outside, condensation will occur on the windows which is the ';fog'; you see on the windows. So when you turn on the defroster on your car, it turns on the A/C (assuming you have A/C) in order to blow cold air onto the windows, reducing the difference between the temperature of the window on the inside and outside of the car, causing the ';fogging'; to ';go away';.Why does the car fog up when couples have sex inside?
So you don't notice the cops when they walk up to your car to tell you to get a hotel room.
Condensation! Heat on the inside cool on the outside

Why does it have to be a couple? Why not some strange on the side of the road?
    THE HEAT..................
your breath is hot and, the window glass is cool this forms waterdroplets i.e. steam or, if you wish; foggy windows.

    Couples counseling in abusive relationship?

I read somewhere that couple's counseling doesn't help if one person is abusive. Is this true, and if so, why?Couples counseling in abusive relationship?
Because someone who is an abuser is sick they need to get help. The spouse who is the victim is the drug. Beating someone is what feeds the sickness. It's kind of like a recovering alcoholic who runs a bar. No matter how much counseling the alcoholic has received there is always temptation at work and it can wear even the strongest will down. Couples counseling in abusive relationship?
it is like trying to row a boat with one orr, it just goes in circles
No that is not true. Why not, because no one can make a blanket statement like that without knowing each and every individual who has done it.. If you are both willing to go, I certainly think it is well worth the effort to try!! good luck...
IT HELPS IF THE ABUSIVE PERSON REALIZES THEY ARE ABUSIVE AND GETS ANGER MANAGEMENT HELP. THE OTHER PERSON HAS TO FIGURE OUT IF THEY CAN FEEL SAFE DURING THIS TIME, AND IT WILL TAKE TIME.

YOU MAY WANT TO STAY WITH FRIENDS OR FAMILY DURING THIS TIME. IT WILL TAKE A LOT OF WORK TOGETHER OR IT WON'T WORK.
get out. screw counseling. abusive people don't change. they claim to ';change'; or ';find God';, but it's a load of sh*t. my stepfather claimed to change, and a few years later, tried to suffocate my mother.
Abusers don't change EVER. It only gets worse. Get out while you can and forget about him ever changing! He won't.

Whoever gave a thumbs down to that is obviously an abusuer or thinks abuse is ok. LOSER.
Abusers very rarely change. Has he admitted that he is abusive? That would have to be the first step of MANY if the relationship were to work out. Some might say they've changed and change their behavior for a while but they don't stay that way. They just do it to get you back. I've heard some women say that their partner is nice, they just have some bad days and behave like jerks when the opposite is actually true. They're jerks who sometimes have good days when it suits them. I would say forget about counseling. Don't waste your time and money. Start the healing process now and move forward. Read books and concentrate on yourself. It's a tough road but a very rewarding one. Good luck.

Is there a difference in Love & Trust levels between Newly weds and Long time married couples?

I THINK I didnt trust my hubby as much as i do now,, now that weve been married 14 yrs ,, i used to get more jealous in the 1st few years,, now i rarely think about it

though after 14 yrs of marriage is when u bore of eachother more,, so maybe the chances of him cheating r higher now?,, i dunno

but why the hell would he cheat on me?,, im an exciting cool gorgeous wife, lol xxxxxxxxxxIs there a difference in Love %26amp; Trust levels between Newly weds and Long time married couples?
There's a big difference in love and trust levels between the two described married couples. Would you trust a 1 year old to drive a car (if it were possible) compared to a 25 year old's abilities? The longer you are married to someone the more you love and trust them. When you are newlyweds you are just laying the foundation for your marriage and building it with love and trust for each other. Is there a difference in Love %26amp; Trust levels between Newly weds and Long time married couples?
Yes, i think so! When I married my husband, I did not love him this much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought I did of course. But spending years together brings everything to another level. When we were first married, I loved him but couldnt stand his little quirks. Now, his quirks are still there, I love him inspite of them. I love him unconditonally. Now, instead of pointing fingers, we just laugh at each other. We were much more up tight our first couple of years.
Well of course, if you are ';newlyweds'; then you have not had a chance to watch your partner and learn to love them and trust them totally.

If you are long time, you've had a chance to see the good and bad points of your partner and BUILD different levels.
The longer you spend with someone and the more time you invest in the relationship, the deeper your love grows and the more you learn to trust them. This doesn't always pertain to everyone but it only meant for the ';norm';. :)
I don't think so. We married each other 10 very happy years ago BECAUSE we profoundly loved and trusted each other.
No,not in love and trust. You either love and trust them or you don't.

I bought a professional camera a couples days ago and i am getting it this monday.where can i find some great.

tips on taking the best pictures.i am gonna take ';landscape'; pictures i think.pictures of the ocean, beautiful buildings, and more...I bought a professional camera a couples days ago and i am getting it this monday.where can i find some great.
Make friends! That's the best way, learning from one another. Find other people interested in photography, there may even be a club or something in your area. Don't be afraid to experiement, express yourself and take the pictures you want. Landscapes are a lot of fun, try different angles, and watch your lighting, shadows, etc. Keep an eye out for great sunsets/sunrises, look in your area for architecture, go to a park or field.. there's all kinds of things to take pictures of even in your backyard. A great time to take pics especially in the summer (I live in KY so it may be different in other places) is at around 7 in the morning. The light has a really nice golden quality that makes beautiful pictures. This website is kinda neat too. Might be worth looking into. http://www.photographytips.com/ Good luck!I bought a professional camera a couples days ago and i am getting it this monday.where can i find some great.
You do understand that getting a ';professional'; camera won't automatically give you professional level images, right? Landscape artists study the art and perfect their technique throughout their lives, and that is what you'll have to do if you're serious about getting great results. Start with good beginning books on technique, camera function, composition and exposure. Your camera manual, of course. Take some classes and study the works of folks in magazines like National Geographic and the photography magazines like Outdoor Photographer and Shutterbug. Learn and practice and have fun. They won't all be keepers, but the beauty of digital is you can shoot plenty and try different settings and compositions. Enjoy your new camera!
Maybe a community college, photography club, etc...

Do you actually know anything about photography?? Find someplace where you can get hands on training from a real person.
Well, since you state you bought a professional camera, and setting aside the fact it seems you don't know anything about it, I will say, you need at least a 20mm for that type of photography. That is, if you have a full frame DSLR, which are the professional cameras. Now, you must know you need a wide angle, wide aperture lens, which should include a rose petal lens hood as well. Be looking to spend anywhere from $600-$2,000 for a professional lens to go with your professional camera. Now, Nikon has the 10.5mm f2.8 ED lens with CRC, that close range correction technology, which is also on several older Nikkors, such as the 60mm f2.8 macro. But, you should know all about this, right...?
Landscapes, buildings and other architectural subjects require a good wide angle lens ... if you are using a SLR, you will need a lens 18mm or shorter ... I use a 12mm for most of mine.
you have to know the capacity of your professional camera. if its a digital slr, then there are lots of helpful sites in the net. practice and discover. a tripod is best when taking landscapes and panoramic pics.

goodluck on your search. canon, nikon, and olympus have lots of tips on their websites.

  • What do you think of married couples with hyphenated names?

    Good or bad idea?

http://www.jibjab.com/view/207449What do you think of married couples with hyphenated names?
Basically I prefer to take the man's name; won't make any difference to the person I already am; after all it's only a name. However, there are much nicer combos that per se Wang-Holder; something like Sweet-Darling for instance.

Edit Letion: get your dang mind our of the cows %26lt;cough%26gt; in other words it's about time to come out for air. Slave indeed!!!What do you think of married couples with hyphenated names?
    Bad idea. It's confusing.

If taking a man's surname is demeaning - and I don't think it is - isn't it worse to take her father's surname and add it to her husband's? If she used her mother's surname, that came from her grandfather. It would make more sense for the couple to choose a new surname for themselves. As Mike T says, it shows commitment if they both change their name.

For practical reasons, it's easier if the woman either keeps her own name or uses his. If they hyphenate their names, they'll have trouble with forms all the time, and their children will have to decide which name to drop when they marry.
bad idea. what do you do when two people with hypenated last-names want to marry? Do you go into quadruple last-names?

the montage was very funny, btw.

Edit: I think it is okay if the woman keeps her maiden name, or hyphenates, but I do not think that the husband and the kid should have hyphenated names.

An alternate solution: I know a family where one kid has the dad's last name and one kid has the mom's last name. This way both names stay into the next generation.
I work in the medical field and find it very difficult to locate patients in my system when they have a hyphenated name.

That being said, traditionally, the woman should take the last name of the husband. But now as society is changing, I can see the need to keep both names (ie: your child shares your maiden name, your business is named after your maiden name, etc).
I don't intend on taking my husband's last name or hyphenating. Of course, I'm 31 and I'm professionally established with my maiden name. I've accomplished things that I'm proud of and my name is an integral part of that and of who I am.

And if a man has a problem with this and decides it's a marriage deal breaker isn't anyone I'd want to be married to anyway.

That said, I wouldn't correct anyone who called me Mrs. His-last-name. And any kids would have his name - no hyphenating the kid's name. I think that's just making things difficult and confusing.
Well, I used to think ';I am going to keep my own last name - this hyphenated business is pretentious and cumbersome.'; The I realized that my last name is my father's last name...not my mom's so really I am just keeping another man's title attached to me. I think it is a romantic gesture, name changing. I think for lots of couples, gay - straight - whatever- it is simply a symbol of unity. I think it is only demeaning if the intention is demeaning. That being said...I still haven't changed my name from my father's to my husband's yet...
Personally hyphenated names annoy me. I understand that a woman may want to keep her name for personal reasons, business reasons, etc but a hyphenated last name is like a cop out to me. Either you decide to join your husband's family and pick up his name or you decide to assert the fact that you are your own person and keep your maiden name.
Great idea - there's no point in following a tradition that doesn't mean anything to you. And it's romantic idea. Both joining names, and combining your legacies to make a new legacy.

My hubby and I don't hypernate we completely joined names. his is so spcial because we are the ONLY couple in the whole world that have this name :-)
I think its a good idea. If a women wants to still show her connection to her family, its her choice. This way both partners are equally represented. Although...if they both have really long last names, that'll be one heck of a signature.

However, I am taking my husbands name when we get married. Its tradition and it doesn't really bother me. I still feel like I'm an equal in the relationship.
If the names are short, or shes a professional with degrees in her maiden name, its fine. Or if he has a really difficult name.

Even if she just wants to keep her name, its awkward when the kids come along, but if she doesn't mind the explanations, that's her business.

I've seen some older people get sort of upset by it. I'm sixty and it doesn't bother me though so I must mean older, older.
It don't think its a bad idea, its that's women's choice if she would like to keep her name and add on her husbands' name or just use his name. I know women out there that don't even use the husbands name in a lot of business things because people knew that person before the marriage.
If the woman wants to keep her maiden name in between hubbies last name its all good, hubby and children shouldnt have hypenated names though. Imagine what last names would be like in a few generations.

Why does everybody think wang - holder is funny ? What does wang holder mean ? Could somebody explain to a guy from Cologne what the funny part about wang holder is ? Sprechen sie englisch ?
I don't understand why you'd hyphenate your name if you weren't famous. I can understand actresses like Jada Pinkett-Smith or Kimberly Williams-Paisley doing it because, quite frankly, no one would know who they were if they completely dropped their maiden name. I think it is a way to honor your husband by taking his name. You are his wife and you have joined his family. It is a sign of respect for him and his heritage.
If the woman wants to keep it that is her prerogative, although I personally would prefer her to take my name, but it is not a deal breaker.

The kids on the other hand I would definitely not want them to have a hyphenated name.
My opinion is either use one or the other but don't hyphenate the names. Both my daughters have four names but two of them are last names. They only go by one of the last names. They can choose to switch to the other if they so desire.
Since each one of us came from a man and a woman I have no problem with hyphenated names. If the hyphened names started including three or more last names, then it can get out of hand and the child's name can be too long.
I don't think it's a bad idea but I would rather keep my last name and have my child use a hyphenated name. He or she can decide what to do with it when he or she gets married.
Good one. If it doesn't make a funny phrase it is a good idea. In the first one, I hope they don't name their kid Harry with the hyphenated last name.
My parents kept their names, and I have a hyphenated last name.

It hasn't caused much confusion, though I do wonder what to do if I get married.
    If-women want-to respect-traditions like-being given-a diamond-engagement ring,-etc. why-don't they-also accept-the tradition-of taking-the husband's-name? H-m-m-m?
It's up to the couple. Personally I wouldn't take the guy's name (I'm not joining his family any more than he's joining mine), but he could take mine if he didn't like his own.
    Usually, I would say ';who cares?';

But for most of those people, it was a bad idea. Particularly for Miss Crapp and Mr. Beer.
I think women changing their name is like saying ';this man is my master I must take his name'; like what the slave masters did to the slaves.

Women need to create their own family lines.
    Hilarious!

Proof positive that you should think carefully about who to marry.
I say sometimes no but the wives like to insist.
Those were hilarious. Follow the link, people!
I prefer a complete name change. It shows commitment and a willingness to make sacrifices. IF she wants to keep her name then she is not fully committed in my opinion.

It would be grounds for calling off the wedding.

    No.. I'm NOT kidding
I think its just a women who is trying to assert that she wants to wear the pants. He should find a different woman to marry.
I compromised, I allowed my wife to change her middle name with her maiden name.

Where are all the handsome interracial couples in the U.S.? What are the most diverse areas here?

I was wondering why attractive interracial couples are rarely seen in the U.S. Other than, say, Tiger Woods and his wife (I'm sure there must be others, even if it's a rare thing- but I use Tiger and his wife just as an example of an attractive interracial couple), one never sees such attractive couples involving black and white Americans. In Europe, we see this very often and they are very nice looking pairs- but I have noticed that here in the U.S., it is very rarely seen, even though America seems to pride itself on its ';melting pot'; culture and so-called diversity, as we have learned in school. Does it depend on which part of the country you are in, or is it still generally unacceptable for blacks and whites to enter into intimate relationships here in the U.S.?Where are all the handsome interracial couples in the U.S.? What are the most diverse areas here?
    I have asked similar questions to myself. But, while America is a ';melting pot'; as far as cultures, there are personal biases of individuals (not necessarily national biases) who believe that anyone who dates outside of their race are ';traitors.'; The first that comes to mind is black people, I have heard black girls complain about how all of the ';good'; black guys get taken up by white girls, and white guys complain about those same relationships; on the other hand, black men who date white women get upset when black women date white men. I have seen various inter-racial couples (asian/white, asian/black, hispanic/white, hispanic/black, black/white, native/white, and so on), though you would not always realise what they are. Not all inter-racial couples are black/white, or that easy to figure out. Then of course there's the ';pride'; groups who believe that they should stick with ';their own kind.';

Very few people in America are ';pure'; anything, unless they're fresh, or only a couple generations, off of the boat.

I do not see why you define inter-racial as black/white, though, it could be any combination of different races. I would rather see happy, functional couples, period; I don't care what race they are.Where are all the handsome interracial couples in the U.S.? What are the most diverse areas here?
Tiger Wood's wife is Swedish, but she does live in the U.S and in my belief, she is an American.

Oh, by the way who told you people that Tiger Woods and his wife get along? Did you ever meet the man? Nien. No body ever met the man unless your somebody of importance.

Tiger Woods is one hell of a golf player, but how is he in the bed? LOL!!!
I dislike interacial coupling............immensely...don't know why but don't like it...
Me, I rather see happy African American couples. That's far more important then wanting to see a mixed ethnic union between people.

Is it good for newly married couples to watch pornography or sex movies?

Only if both enjoy it.Is it good for newly married couples to watch pornography or sex movies?
perfectly normalIs it good for newly married couples to watch pornography or sex movies?
Sure if they are both into it why not? At least they are doing it together and not in different rooms alone!
LET ME TELL YOU, HE BETTER WATCH IT WHILE HE CAN...HE WON'T BE GETTING IT FOR LONG...I KNOW.

I CAN'T GET ANYTHING FROM MY WIFE.
If they both enjoy it why not
I think it is wrong and most especially as newly weds.. What is he missing or she missing that this needs to be done.. I foresee that this marriage is in danger...
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO AND NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
its not a bad thing. If thats ya thing then do it. If yall were doing it before you got married, why stop now. And if it just started once yall got married, it never hurts to try/experience new things. If it enhances yalls sex life, go ahead. There's nothing wrong with it, but it works best if both of yall are involved or agreement that its okay to watch.
That is completely between the individuals and no one else's business.

    ~
    NO.

It is a sacred bond between husband and wife.

Watching other people bump uglies is not any good.
thats the only time dear...and its gud !!!
is it good? i would think that you could create your own excitement at that early stage of marriage! I would be wondering about the partner that had initiated the idea.
    What is wrong.

Sometimes this movie will make your sex life better.

In lot of cases for those married did not have any kids and seek Dr's advice after first consultation he will provide you the educational tape/vcd/dvd for you to view and practise and have baby.
Why would they want or need to being newly wed.
i dont see why not , as long as both partners are confortable with it :]

me and my boyfriend watch it together and ... when were alone and its fine .
it you are both into, go for it and enjoy. if either of you is uncomfortable, than NO. dont do it just to make the other happy, you will resent it and it can cause problems in all aspects of your relationship. but, hey, anything that brings a little more spice and excitement into your sex life at any point, it great as long as it is for both of you!
do you really want him to think about the other woman that he saw in the porn when he is making love to you??
NO!!! Marriage is a sacred circle - you will contaminate it with porn.

Men are extremely visual and replay that sort of thing in their minds. Porn is anti-marriage because it sends messages to men that they can have anybody they want and after awhile, they often act it out. Porn has been on the rise since around 1960 and so has divorce. Don't do it.

    Joy to you!
If they both want to why not
I truely believe it's not good, my husband and I don't watch this stuff, we have been married just over 1 year, and we will never watch this stuff... porn is immorral and brings nothing but problems...!

Is there nudity in the movie ';Couples Retreat';? Is the movie worth watching?

The movie ';Couples Retreat'; looks like yet another stupid-funny movie made for teenage boys and girls. I just want someone's opinion that's actually seen the movie. I don't like nudity in movies (even male nudity) or extremely overdone language. All answers are appreciated!!Is there nudity in the movie ';Couples Retreat';? Is the movie worth watching?
I checked IMDB and it said:

Rated PG-13 on appeal for sexual content and language. (originally Rated R for some sexual material.)

So it was an R movie and they appealed the decision and it was lowered to PG-13. So it might not be your cup of tea.Is there nudity in the movie ';Couples Retreat';? Is the movie worth watching?
I think it will have nudity and extremely overdone language

It kinda looks like the hangover well it doesn't look like it but like the concept of the both movies nudity and explicit language
my teacher went to see it and she said there was one ' not appropiate scene' and so that leads me to thinking nudity. she said it was really funny though. it's not really for tean more like ages 17-35.

  • What is your opinion on lesbian couples?

what do you think? What is your opinion on lesbian couples?
Dip me in chocolate and throw me to the lesbians =]What is your opinion on lesbian couples?
    Lesbian couples are amazing.

    - Sometimes.

Well, with the ones that i know anyway. Haha.

There was always a lot of drama, because we would all hang together, and different people would break up, then start liking someone else in the ';clique';. So yeah.

But over all, its a beautiful thing. Just like any other loving relationship.

I wish I was part of a lesbian couple.

    =[
They are adorable.. And contrary to what some perceive them to be, there are some gorgeous ones out there, and not all are ';rough around the edges looking';..

Many of them have had enough ca-ca heaped on them via adverse remarks / expressions and all they want to do is live their lifestyle, and ber left alone to pursue their wants / wishes..

All the more power to them.

    Regards,

    Rachelle In High Heels
If by ';couples'; you mean romantically, live together, love together, wonderful. Any two people, gay or straight, that love each other, should be together, sharing the good times and the bad.
well i am gay dont have lesbian couples freinds fined with it
Should be respected like straights are. And so should gay couples.

    I'm a lesbian
    They're cute.
    Wish I was in one....but they're awesome.
no oppinion, a couple is a couple gay straight fat tall skinny short who cares

I'm a Christian; however I don't see the problem with gay couples?

I'm Catholic, straight and sexually attracted to women but what I don't understand is people going on about, ' oh you're gay the devil will have you ' and all of that. When I have children I will let them choose I won't force something upon them.

What ever happened to Love thy neighbour?

We are all created in the image and likeness of god and God has a plan for everyone.

Being gay has nothing to do with the devil.I'm a Christian; however I don't see the problem with gay couples?
    Exactly! Because there's nothing wrong!

I'm Catholic, bi, and sexually attracted to both genders. I also don't understand why people would say that.

Well, I suppose I do sort of understand. These people who say that haven't read the Bible, haven't read it correctly (assuming they have read it), and are taught as a child that being LGBT is wrong. Yet, they are also taught that God loves everyone.

The thing about the Bible, is that - in Leviticus - there's a passage that says male/male sex is an abomination. Of course, it says the same of divorce, premarital sex, shellfish, working on Sundays, people with visual impairment, shaving, cotton/polyester blend fabric, football, and so on. It also says that bestiality is more acceptable than gay sex. And it promotes slavery.

Of course, in the New Testament, Jesus says to ignore Leviticus!

As for Sodom and Gomorrah, Justin explains it wonderfully: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dgm4SXaEs…

In short, there's nothing wrong with homosexuality as far as religion is concerned. And, any one who says there is should actually read the Bible before I shove it up their ***.I'm a Christian; however I don't see the problem with gay couples?
I think that's fantastic. You're practically the first Christian I've seen on here that doesn't mind gays.

(One thing that annoys me: ';When I have children I will let them choose I won't force something upon them.'; Actually homosexuality isn't a choice, it's a genetic mutation, much like red hair.)

    But that's a common mistake. I'm proud of you, even though I'm not a Christian. ^_^ *high-fives*
I was raised in a Baptist home and raised to believe that Homosexuality is of the devil. Now I am 34 years old, with two children and I have been dating my best friend from high school for three and a half years now. It is the best love I have ever experienced. My parents, especially my mom, who is 71 and set in her strong christian beliefs, do not like the idea of me being with Lisa at all. They don't shun her or tell her that she can't come around me but since we have been together I have lost custody of both of my children, my 11 year old son was beat by his stepfather (the father of my 5 year old daughter) so I left him. I am now with Lisa and I guess everyone thinks that I am a lesbian, that I don't know how to raise my children, I was always praised for the great mother I was before, but now anymore, no one wants the children around me or Lisa, isn't that some bs?!? I don't know what to do about any of it either. I cry, I get mad and depressed and its just not fair. To myself or to my children.
Kudos to you. LIke you i am also a christian and i love people for who they are. God does not say to hate others. I have many friends who are gay or bi and they not diff than me. They just happen to love somebody of the same sex. i wish the hate would stop. It hurts me to see gay people attacked. I think about Matthew Shepperd ( i hope i got his name right). He was killed because he was gay.My gosh can you imagine the pain that young man went through. It breaks my heart. I do believe in the Bible and the bible says to love one another. I totally don't get the whole idea, I mean there's about six lines in the bible that pertain to homosexuality while there are THOUSANDS of others that have to do with heterosexuality. I mean, come on. Stop complaining and give us our rights already. Get a life, your not a catholic your stupid.

(Not you, I mean the ';religious catholics, defenders of marriage';)
Thank God. I am sick of ';good Christian people'; telling people (like myself) that we're going to hell because we're being true to the way God made us. good :]
I agree, today's society has gone completely bonkers. I don't know what's wrong with people not accepting someone because of their sexual preference. If they are attracted to the same sex then there's nothing you can do about it. Everyone deserves to be happy and that means homosexuals too. I think it truly is disgusting to see how much this world has not changed. You would think that by now people from all around the world would be able to communicate peacefully and respectfully without judging a person's lifestyle. It's sickening and it seems like it gets worse everyday. It'll be very interesting to see how things will be in about 10 years or so. The world will probably be deteriorated by then.

I love all people, all shapes and sizes, all colors, gay, straight or transgendered. I love everyone because each and every person in this world deserves to love and be loved; to experience happiness. The world needs to stop being idiotic, narcissistic, pessimist, imbeciles, and realize that racism and all this hate is unnecessary. Unfortunately, this world is full of billions of people that don't know how to think for themselves. It's a crying shame; maybe things will change.

I hope they change, one day I want kids and if the world is anything like it is now in 20 years then you can forget it. I will not bring a child into a world full of pure hatred. I pray to God that a miracle will happen soon.
    P!ss off.

What are your signs married couples?

what are your signs? kids signs?

    and your venus and mars.

    and what is it like?

any scorpio's and taurus's marraiges/relationships ?What are your signs married couples?
I'm scorpio and i'm seeing a taurus guy. What are your signs married couples?
I am a Scorpio and my husband is a Leo.

We have four kids and they are:Virgo, Capricorn, Leo and a Gemini

I butt heads a lot w/my virgo daughter, she gets along better w/hubby. My capricorn daughter is so sensitive and sweet and gets hurt really easily. She is the goofball of our family. My leo son is only two but he is also very stubborn and can be really demanding, and always wants attention. He can be sooo sweet though. My gemini is only four months old so I will have to see how that goes in a couple of years.
My husband, son and I are all pisces. Three people, one house and all born within three days! Pisces are meant to be compatible with each other and I think most of the time we are. We have been together for sixteen years and happily married for ten.
my husband is a Gemini %26amp; I am an Aquarius

we have been married for 12 years in May %26amp; we get along great

I however do not think that signs matter, if God wants you to

be together in marriage he will work it out :%26gt;)
I am a cancer/leo and my husband is a pisces.

How many times do most couples have sex each week? How many times for a healthy relationship not just based on?

....sex?How many times do most couples have sex each week? How many times for a healthy relationship not just based on?
You and your partner should discuss the needs each of you have. Some people have the need for sex more than others. Decide on something both of you are comfortable, and remember not to have it as something that has to be done. Having sex when the mood strikes is better than having sex on a specific calender day. Sometimes being spontaneous will keep your sex life interesting and fun!How many times do most couples have sex each week? How many times for a healthy relationship not just based on?
That is really a hard question to answer. It's different or each couple. Some need sex daily and some twice a month. Depends on age and what ur used to. For my wife and I 2-3 times a week is great.
Good question but too many unknown possible variables. Define some parameters and ask again.
well me and my bf have sex wen we can like everyday more than once a day...maybe this over the top.

What do you think of couples that wear each other's clothes?

Do you think it's weird or sexy? Or both? What do you think of couples that wear each other's clothes?
well me and my man swap clothes all the time...but then its cool cos he is another man...great i get a shag and another wardrobe...coool.What do you think of couples that wear each other's clothes?
My ex pinched my England cricket shirt and promptly strecthed it our of shape. Well done that woman!
I think it is pathetic. The only thing that is normal is like when u wear a boyfriends shirt or t shirt when you wake up in morning and go get a drink or some breakfast!lol
    sexy
    Sexy !!
if you are that couple..it would be sexy and cute..if people watch the couple do that....it would be silly
its cute and sexy. only like when the girl wears his track suit bottom(my favourite) or shirt or shorts even. not so much when the Boy does it tho unless maybe wearing her fluffy pink slippers to the bathroom (no where outside the hse)
    sexy
    Weird
its cute in 1 way but skanky in anouther way

    lol
If they enjoy let them get on with it,as long as it's private.
o my god scruffy and i have been wearin my husbands jumper all day, im a skank

    kinky!
    I think it's cute! :D

  • What are some common interracial couples u see dating where you live ?

also where do you live ? tyWhat are some common interracial couples u see dating where you live ?
Alabama...White girls with black guys is the most common. What are some common interracial couples u see dating where you live ?
There are a lot of Black female/White Male relationships, that's the most common here. Then you have a little less of the Black Male/White female than the other pair. There are also some Black Female/Other minority male relationships here. I think there are some other interracial relationships besides the ones I've mentioned, but I've never cared enough about those to pay attention to them. I live in Kentucky, so already the majority is going to be Black/White.
I live in NYC and I see a whole diversity of couples. Black and white, asian and white, asian and black, hispanic and black, hispanic and white, hispanic and asian, some middle eastern and white, you name it, we got it. lol/
I live in Ontario Canada, and I see every possible combo you could imagine. My boyfriend and I are an interracial couple; me being white, him black, my sister is white and her husband is asian.
i live in northeast ohio but the side of town i live in is mostly white and the ones that arent are at least half

korean and white hispanic and white most commonly black and white
Black and White are usually the only interracial relationships i see, and they are very common in my town.

    I live in South-West London.
    White and Punjabi.

Is it possible for ex-couples who have gotten over eachother to rekindle years later? (stories?)?

But even though we're both trying to move on, im wondering if it's possible, after you've gotten over someone, can you still have feelings for them after 2-3 years apart? , especially if you both meant a lot to eachother.

    Any stories?

My girlfriend and I (3 years, were 24) , broke up because we were both going to different countries for grad school + it got really strained lately. It wasnt worth it.Is it possible for ex-couples who have gotten over eachother to rekindle years later? (stories?)?
My mom and her partner are like that,

About 10 years ago they met, and were together for a while, very much in love and so forth. But her partners mother passed away and dissappeared. We never herd from him for a long time, we moved away and all means of contact had changed on both halves. Then on my birthday we went to southend, this is 7 years later, and he was there, and it was like everything just came rushing back to them, and here they are 5 years on happy and such. It turns out after his mother passed away, he got pretty depressed, and ended up in a serious accident, and he was trying to find us for years after but since we had moved on he had no way and was also scared too.

so i suppose you could, if its true and such, it'll never really die.

What is ';born-again pro-family worship'; which pro-family born again married couples are distinguished as being?

nonsense...you christians are too full of regulations, red tape, and politics. No wonder why you are hypocritesWhat is ';born-again pro-family worship'; which pro-family born again married couples are distinguished as being?
Our born again pro-family movement doesn't act naive about the reality of sex, it's a part of life, but our born again pro-family worship won't allow pro-fornication swingers to corrupt our innocent children, in a place that is supposed to set moral and ethical standards we do it behind closed doors. What is ';born-again pro-family worship'; which pro-family born again married couples are distinguished as being?
Not sure what you are asking, but in my experience, ';pro-family'; means pro-life and anti-gay, and not much more.
I think it's a euphemism for a church which bans cohabiting couples and single parents.
Pro-family people who think they have been born a second time.
I have no idea what that is! All I can think of is the Duggars.

Going to Ocho Rios, Jamaica couples resort in Sep/Nov 08. Has anybody been there? Is that a good time to go?

Just want to know if that's a good place to go for honeymoon. Good or bad experience and what the weather is like in August-November?? Plan on staying in the Ocean Jr. Suite!Going to Ocho Rios, Jamaica couples resort in Sep/Nov 08. Has anybody been there? Is that a good time to go?
    Hibiscus Lodge Hotel

I stay there every year when I do to Jamaica in Dec. Nice, lovely hotel.

Its really nice.Going to Ocho Rios, Jamaica couples resort in Sep/Nov 08. Has anybody been there? Is that a good time to go?
August %26amp; Nov is part of hurricane season....It will be hit or miss just watch the weather. We went during Thanksgiving. We caught the tailend of a tropical storm. It rained 2 of the 5 days we were there. We were in Ocho Rios I loved it. The only thing I didn't like was the long drive from the airport. Otherwise it was awesome!
If you are actually going to ';Couples, Ocho Rios';, you will LOVE it. We went to ';Couples Swept Away'; in Negril last year, and are going to Ocho Rios in April. No worries, once you go, you'll know.
well i work on cruise ships and have visited ocho rios many times. ochio rios itself i'm afraid to say is not the nicest spot to stay, you will be offered drugs every 10 yards and there are alot of beggars, but Jamaica as an island is beautiful. good thing about ocho rios is that you'll be a short taxi ride away from the Dunn river falls. a bit of a tourist trap but well worth going to. also dolphin cove where you can swim with dolphins, sting rays or nurse sharks. i was there in Aug and Sept and the weather was fine, rained alot around June July.

a insiders tip for you, great day out in a local spot the tourist don't know about. jump in a cab and ask to go to ';the blue hole'; about half hour drive. is a set of 3 waterfalls in the middle of nowhere. you can jump off, go swimming, climb trough caves. there are normally some locals there to show you around for tips.

i also would recommend the zip lining in the jungle and scuba diving.

    have a good trip

Have any of the couples that were on Wife Swap gotten a divorce?

Interesting - sorry i dont know the answer but I'd also love to find outHave any of the couples that were on Wife Swap gotten a divorce?

if it's a couples thing and he doesn't want to be raggedy andy, he should choose some other classic toy, like a teddy bear or jack-in-the-box.I'm going as raggety ann for halloween, what would a good couples costume be with that?
The raggedy cat or dog, or a Ken doll might work.

It's Halloween, why does he have such an issue?

    NO!!!!!!

Freedom of religion protects there rights. Are churches that oppose same sex marriage required to marry same sex couples even though they oppose?
Churches are private institutions. Further, the religious ceremony is extraneous to the civil institution. It isn't even necessary. Are churches that oppose same sex marriage required to marry same sex couples even though they oppose?
    No.

Religion and government are separate. So even the government can't force a church to marry anyone. It's up to the church.
