no but it definately helps if they spot you looking. You can always say you lost your dog if they ask, you can even say that's why you were looking through there window, to see if they'd stolen him. No but i have seen men with dogs pretending to walk them lol and the dog is sooo old and its walking along slowly like ';oh for gods sake not this again!';

Not compulsory but a good idea to have a big dog in case the guy in the car comes after you.
