WHose name a child gets? Surrogate moms name or a couples name in USA?

If you become a surrogate mom for a couple , whose name does a child get in USA ? Is it surrogate moms name or a couples name while in hospital? does anyone know about it? Or thourghout the life baby will have surrogate moms name? WHose name a child gets? Surrogate moms name or a couples name in USA?
The couple. You can give your kid what ever last name you chose, my son has my last name, his Dad and I are married but my last name is a lot nicer than my hsbands. WHose name a child gets? Surrogate moms name or a couples name in USA?
You can really chose whatever you want for your baby's last name. So I would assume the new parents would give it their name. The trick would be that the birth mom would be on the certificate and I believe the new mom (parents) would have to legally adopt the child if they wanted the child to be legally theirs. But they may have more detailed laws regarding surrogates and the new parents would want to discuss everything with a lawyer that specializes in this.
It would depend on who's egg it is. If its your egg one would put the baby's name as the fathers name so it wouldn't have to have the surrogate mothers name. Surrogate mothers should know that legally the baby is not theirs there for it wouldn't go by the surrogate mothers name just the couples name if married if they are not married it would have to be the fathers name.
The role of a surrogate mother is to produce a baby. Naming a child and raising it is done by the recipient couple or single person.
You can give your child any last name that you want, even if it is different from yours. But generally the baby would not get the surrogate's name.
what the hell do you think??? What is your understanding of surrogate? There is no reason why you should be thinking the child should get yur name
The adopting couple will name the baby.
You only 'get' the child by legal adoption. The adopting parents last name is the one taken. Check with your attorney
